MAXOL - PROUD SPONSROS OF IRISH UNIVERSITIES RUGBY
Maxol, Europe’s leading independent oil company, today (Friday 18th February) announced that it is to continue its sponsorship of the Irish Universities Rugby Team for the next three years.
During the past six years of Maxol’s sponsorship, highlights for the team have included successful tours of South Africa in 1995 and Australia in 1997. Both 1997 and 1998 were a phenomenal success for the team winning the Triple Crown two years in a row. Two of the players who both featured on the ’98 team, have now successfully graduated to the Irish International team – Peter Stringer at scrum half and Frank Sheahan, substitute for the Ireland v. Scotland match at Lansdowne Road on Saturday 19th February.
