MAXOL LINK WITH MARKS & SPENCER AND ARGOS TO SHAKE UP OIL COMPANY PROMOTIONS
Maxol, Europe’s leading independent oil company, has invested IR£.75m in a new loyalty forecourt promotion which was recently launched (July 1st 1999). The scheme, which is called PointsPlus, offers consumers the opportunity to gain points with every purchase from any participating Maxol service station, which can be redeemed at Marks & Spencer and Argos stores. There is also a fuel back option to gain discounts on Maxol products. This is the first instant, electronic loyalty card, which will be accepted in both the North and South of the country. It is also the first loyalty scheme to offer instant redemption and points checking facilities at any participating Maxol station.
There are no registration or form filling requirements and consumers can simply pick up a card when they pull in to fill up. Maxol has invested in, HTEC technology, the best system available for this type of scheme.
Points are issued for Maxol Motor Fuel, Lubricants and Car Wash with five points being issued for every £1 spent. Each card holds a maximum of 2,500 points, which is worth £5 and the maximum redemption is £50 at any one time. As PointsPlus replaces Maxol’s "Choices for People" catalogue, this scheme will cease on June 30th, however customers can continue to redeem their stamps up to December 31st 1999.
