Maxol, Ireland's leading family-owned forecourt and convenience retailer has announced the winners of its 2018 Excellence Awards. The annual awards scheme, now in its twenty-second year, promotes and rewards Excellence in Retail Standards, Customer Experience, and Community Engagement across Maxol’s network of service stations in Ireland. The awards were presented at a company-wide special celebration, in Porto, Portugal.
Awards were presented in the following categories: Excellence in Standards, Customer Experience and Excellence in Community Engagement. The two top performing sites across all categories were rewarded with the most coveted award of the night: Store of the Year.
Brian Donaldson, CEO of The Maxol Group, said: "Congratulations to our winning retailers and their teams who have once again gone above and beyond to provide top class services and facilities to our customers and their communities. We believe in the importance and benefits of rewarding our own for their hard work and the standards they maintain and drive, year-on-year. The Awards are a great way of engaging staff and creating a collaborative environment within our sites, as well as friendly competition among our retailers each year.”
Speaking of the win, Terry Mulkerns, Dealer, said: “We are very proud to have won the “Excellence in Community Engagement” and “NI Store of the Year” awards. We work very hard to be active in our local community and to offer support where we can and it’s fantastic for this effort to be recognised. I would like to thank our whole team in store who work hard every day to provide the best service possible.”
The retailers are assessed through a combination of detailed site inspections by Maxol management, external inspections, fundraising activities for Maxol’s nominated charity (AWARE) and mystery shopper visits to observe and assess the quality of service offered to the customer.
