Tom Duggan, Licensee at Maxol Castletroy won the award for ‘Excellence in Community Engagement’ at the 2017 - 2018 Maxol Excellence Awards, which were presented at the K Club, Co. Kildare earlier this year. The Excellence Awards promote and reward excellence in retail standards, customer experience, and community engagement throughout the Maxol network of 231 service stations across Ireland.
Maxol Castletroy lent its support to Milford Care Centre and raised €1,227. The service station ran an in-store promotion building awareness for the centre and supported the fundraising activity on their Facebook page. Within the shop, the Maxol team chatted to customers about the hospice and encouraged many people to donate. The Milford Care Centre provides a range of invaluable services to the community including hospice at home services, a nursing home, and day care for both the elderly and people with palliative care needs.
Tom Duggan, of Maxol Castletroy, was presented with the award to acknowledge the station’s commitment towards supporting a much valued and needed local service. He said;
“At Maxol Castletroy, we are delighted to play such an integral part in the local community and we were very pleased to be able to present a cheque to Milford Care Centre earlier in the year. The Centre provides much needed services to the local community and we would like to thank all of our customers who supported us in raising funds and for making the whole event worthwhile”.
