Garage of Year Awards

AUSTIN MCHALE RALLY CAR MAKES A SPECIAL PIT STOP AT MAXOL FOR GARAGE OF THE YEAR AWARDS

The Austin McHale rally car made a special pit stop at a Maxol service station recently to celebrate the up and coming Garage of the Year Awards sponsored by Maxol Lubricants.

The award scheme which recognises and rewards car garages on customer service levels, showroom facilities and the extensiveness of their parts departments is organised in partnership between Garage Trader Magazine and the Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMI).

The scheme is open to both franchised dealers and independent repairers and is, for the first time, being held at the annual RMI dinner at the Culloden Hotel on 11 November 2004.

Noel Smyth, Regional Manager of RMI, said: “The Garage of the Year Awards are an opportunity for garages across the country to showcase the services they offer to the industry and public at large. The annual RMI Dinner is the ideal venue to host these awards and we are hoping that members of the industry will attend the dinner with renewed interest.”

Pat Phelan of Maxol Lubricants, sponsor of the awards, said: “Being a major supplier of quality lubricants to the car industry Maxol is committed to ensuring that today’s motorist has the best quality of care for their car. We are expecting a very high standard of entries this year and are looking forward to judging garages of all types and categories based on the criteria of the awards”.

With less than one week to go I would urge companies to get nominating and wish all entrants the best of luck.”

Entry forms are available through Garage Trader magazine with the closing date for entries being the 14th October 2004.  A representative of the judging panel will visit nominated businesses over the next month with the winners being announced at the RMI Annual Dinner on 11th November.
