Maxol Invests £2 Milllion In Northern Ireland Petrol Retail Market
MAXOL INVESTS £2 MILLION IN NORTHERN IRELAND'S PETROL RETAIL MARKET
Maxol today formally re-opened their Tates Avenue petrol station in Belfast. This is the 14th of its program of refurbished garage forecourts - bringing to £2 million the local company’s total investment over the past 12 months in petrol and shop retailing in Northern Ireland.
Mr. Brian Donaldson, Group Marketing Manager of Maxol, said that the company was confident that this combined trading format of petrol and convenience goods on the one site was proving extremely successful and was the future of modern day shopping habits.
Our research has shown that basket shopping combined with petrol purchase is becoming increasingly popular, he said. Customers now want the convenience of a one stop shop as close to their doorstep as possible. This investment by ourselves of £2 million is an indication of how important we see the petrol and convenience retail sector becoming in the future.
At today’s opening customers were treated to complimentary food and soft drinks, while the first 1000 customers to spend £24 on fuel will each receive a cyber pet or Christmas light set.
Maxol, Europe’s leading independent oil company, operates 125 sites in Northern Ireland and will be continuing its province-wide modernisation and refurbishment program into 1998.
