Maxol Supports Plato Barbecue

PLATO Belfast, the two year small business development programme which matches top level executives with new entrepreneurs, recently held its first annual event at the Radisson Hotel Belfast.

Funded by Belfast City Council, Intertrade Ireland and Invest Northern Ireland, the mentoring organisation offers local small business owners and managers the chance to work with, and be guided by, some of Northern Ireland’s best business leaders with the aim of enhancing businesses growth.

Over 50 SME’s, parent companies and group leaders attended the local networking event organised by Plato Belfast.

Brian Donaldson, Chairman of PLATO and General Manager of the Maxol Group – Marketing and Retail, said: “We are delighted that PLATO’s first annual event has attracted so many delegates and business leaders. PLATO’s real strength lies in its ability to get different business people together to discuss the issues affecting their businesses and through open discussion provide a clear way forward. The strong numbers attending this event are an indication of the value and importance our participants place on the programme”.

Brian Hunter, Regional Manager, PLATO Belfast, said: I am delighted with the success of this event. Plato was first launched in Northern Ireland in 2001 and in a relatively short time has become one of the most influential forums for growth businesses. The PLATO ethos relies on good networking and this event not only is a great social occasion but a perfect opportunity for owners and managers to meet and discuss their business interests.”

Operating in over ten European countries and covering over forty regions, PLATO networks currently help over 9000 SME’s and have a membership of over 800 parent companies.
