Service Stations in Naas Scoop Award


Maxol All Ireland Retailers of the Year 2005/2006 Jody & Gary Rice with Des Duffy – Retail Manager, Ireland, Maxol Limited

Gary & Jody Rice, Licensees of the Maxol service stations at the Crossings and at Sallins Road in Naas, have been named Maxol All Ireland Retailers of the Year.  Gary, Jody and their staff beat off stiff competition from Maxol service stations across Ireland to win the prestigious Maxol Award.  The announcement was made at Maxol’s recent winners trip to Biarritz in France. Gary & Jody received the Award and a cheque for €1,500.in recognition of the standards of excellence maintained at the service stations, both of which have Mace convenience stores, during the twelve- month judging period.

The accolade, which forms part of Maxol’s annual Retail Business Awards scheme, promotes and recognizes excellence in retail standards and customer care throughout its entire network of service stations.  

Judging is conducted via formal inspections by Maxol senior management at participating Maxol stations throughout the year. In addition an independent agency conducts mystery motorist visits to observe and report on the quality of service offered to customers.

The team at the Crossings and Sallins Rd. service stations are no strangers to these awards and consistently perform well every year.  Earlier this year they won two Maxol Staff Team Awards and they will no doubt feature again in next year’s credits.  Gary, who grew up in Naas & his wife Jody have operated the Sallins Rd. service station since it opened its door in December 2003 and The Crossings since early 2005.   

Commenting at the presentation of the Award, Des Duffy, Maxol’s Retail Manager said:  

“Congratulations to Jody and Gary and their team for winning the 2005-2006 Maxol All Ireland Retailer of the Year Award.  This is a really great achievement and one of which they can be very proud.  The scheme was originally developed in 1992 to ensure that customers can expect the best from Maxol, including quality retailing and premium customer care and that the best levels of service and amenities are maintained on Maxol forecourts.  This award acknowledges Jody and Gary’s commitment to achieving this goal.”
