Pictured at the official launch of the new look Maxol Castletroy on the Dublin Road in Limerick: l-r Tom Duggan and Tom Chawke Maxol Castletroy, one of Limerick’s landmark service stations, unveiled a brand new look today following a major renovation. The extensive makeover includes a vibrant new image for the Maxol station and Centra convenience store; a new double bay drive-through car wash centre, new fuel pumps and underground storage tanks and improved customer car parking.
The Maxol Group purchased Chawke's, close to the Kilmurry Roundabout at the Dublin Road, in April of this year and since then has invested a significant sum in improving the facilities at this popular local convenience destination. Tom Duggan, who has managed the Castletroy business since 2000 and is the Maxol licensee, was at the launch: “I’m so proud of the new forecourt facilities here at Maxol Castletroy and I can’t wait to show all our customers our new look and improved service offering. “We are not your average service station in that we have a 5,000 square foot convenience store and can therefore cater for all convenience shopping.
Our delicatessen has an extensive fresh food offering and we also have a considerable off-licence. We really have a lot more than what you might expect from a convenience store and we offer our customers great value. “We look forward to serving our broad profile of customers, including passing motorists, University of Limerick students and customers from the National Technology Park; we’re open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. “I really would like to thank our customers for their patience during the refurbishment works as I know there was a bit of upheaval. Now that our journey is complete, I’m sure they will see that we can now offer them something far superior and very much worth waiting for.”
Mr Duggan ended with a tribute to Tom Chawke, who had operated the business since its opening in 1983 until his retirement earlier this year: “He was a fantastic mentor for me. He set a really high standard for me to aspire to. His people skills and business acumen were just incredible. I am very motivated to continue to meet the needs of our customers and in keeping our business at the heart of the local Castletroy community.”
There will be a further celebratory event held at Maxol Castletroy this Saturday 12th December, from 12–4pm, where the station will host a family fun day filled with lots of prizes and surprises, including a visit from Mr. Claus himself. 20 Maxol service stations and growing.
