Maxol Receives Honourable Mention from the National Association of Convenience Stores

Maxol, Ireland's leading family owned forecourt and convenience retailer recently received an Honourable Mention in the International Convenience Retailer of the Year category at the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) Awards.

Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services was chosen by the judges to receive the accolade as a Large Format store, signifying the progression of the new retail offering that has been evolving within Maxol over the last two years.

The prestigious NACS Insight European Convenience Retail Awards, which took place on June 14th, were held at the St. Pancras Renaissance Hotel in London where judges agreed that the state of the art Maxol M3 Mulhuddart Services is an example of convenience retailing at its best, awarding it an Honourable Mention.

The €6 million investment created 84 jobs in the Mulhuddart area when the station opened in April 2016.The 2.5-acre site offers a modern forecourt design and includes well known Irish food franchises Freshly Chopped, Supermacs and Insomnia as well as Maxol's own food brand, Moreish.

Competition for this year's Convenience Retailer of the Year Award was especially strong with companies selected by convenience and fuel retailing industry peers as finalists from Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, South Africa, Thailand, and United Arab Emirates.

Since 2009, the NACS Insight International Convenience Retailer of the Year Award has recognized excellence in convenience and forecourt retailing on an international stage and celebrates the best convenience retail formats from around the world. Retailers are judged across key criteria including format innovation, range, people development, customer service initiatives, corporate social responsibility, technology and results.
