About Maxol Recharge

Innovation and adaptation have been at the heart of Maxol’s business over the last century and more. Maxol first introduced EV charging to their service stations in 2011 and since then the network has grown to include the most advanced charging infrastructure in several locations around the country. A landmark moment of this journey occurred in December 2022 when Maxol launched the first dedicated Ultra Rapid EV hub on the island of Ireland in Maxol Kinnegar service station.

By the end of 2023 we expect to have over 3MWs of installed charger capacity on our network, which we hope to increase to over 15MWs by the end of 2026 with the ultimate goal of having 100MW of available charging capacity on our forecourts.

advantages
  • 100% Renewable Energy

We only source 100% renewable electricity for our EV Hubs and where possible solar panels have been installed on the roofs of our EV hubs.

  • Ultra-Rapid Charging

Customers will enjoy ultra-rapid chargers in our network, where possible we install a minimum standard of 150kwcharge points that can charge a single vehicle* in as little as 15 minutes.

  • Permitted Parking

To give customers enough time to get what they require but that frees up charges we strictly enforce parking restrictions for stays in excess of 45 minutes currently to ensure wait times are generally eliminated but where they occur are kept to an absolute minimum.

  • Charge and Shop

While your vehicle is charging customers can shop in-store and pick up their everyday essentials, enjoy freshly prepared food or grab a tasty hot beverage. Or take advantage of the other facilities on site including Maxol wash (available at select sites) or our air, water and vacuum services.

* The speed of charge depends on the vehicle and battery.

Maxol Kinnegar: The First Publicly Accessible Dedicated Ultra-Rapid Charging Hub on the island of Ireland

Maxol Kinnegar marked the opening of the first dedicated Ultra Rapid EV charging hub on the island of Ireland. The hub provides the highest charging speeds currently available to the public in Northern Ireland and features four high-powered rapid and ultra-rapid chargers including a 200kw charge point. Up to six vehicles can charge at any one time, ensuring efficient output and convenience for customers. While customers charge their car, they can visit EUROSPAR at Maxol Kinnegar and stock up on cupboard essentials, grab a BARISTA BAR coffee or grab a bite to eat at the Delish Deli Hot Food counter.
