More than €665,000 raised in six years as mental health charity reports unprecedented demand for its services during 2021

Maxol’s annual Christmas coffee fundraiser has raised €65,000 for mental health charity, Aware, and all thanks to the welcome support from Maxol’s customers and retailers.

Brewed with Aware in mind, Maxol’s ROSA coffee Christmas charity campaign was the perfect blend for success with a 10-cent donation made by Maxol to Aware for every purchase of its exclusive ROSA coffee, as well as other hot drinks, in November and December 2021.

Aware relies heavily on the support of communities and corporate organisations such as Maxol to ensure it serves the Irish public with free support, education and information to people impacted by anxiety, depression, stress and other mood-related disorders.

Due to the pandemic, Aware has seen a significant increase in demand for its services over the past year. The societal and economic consequences of Covid-19 has continued to impact heavily on Irish communities and on the nation’s ability to cope with anxiety, stress and depression.

Brian Donaldson, CEO of The Maxol Group, spoke about the campaign:

“We’re very proud to partner with Aware and support the incredible work its team of volunteers carries out every day across the country. This marks our sixth year working with the mental health charity and we understand how vital fundraising initiatives such as the ROSA Christmas coffee campaign is towards helping people who are really struggling. I would like to thank all of our valued customers, retailers and staff who have supported this good cause.”

Maxol, with the support of its retailers and customers has raised more than €665,000 for Aware in six years and Drew Flood, Business Development Executive at Aware said:

“The past year has been incredibly difficult for us to generate funds to help people; a shortage of funds means we do not have the resources to get to every call which is heart-breaking. For this reason, we are extremely grateful for the funds raised of €65,000 by Maxol customers nationwide. This is a huge amount to raise over a two-month period and really supports us in continuing to carry out our work.”
